network marketing Archives

Network Marketing or MLM businesses are effectively organisations or networks of people who are all building the same business. It is very similar in principle to the ‘franchise’ principle. That is to say that in franchising, the franchisor develops a business model, be it product or service based, and he (or she) figures out how to make it work, they put in place a ‘system’ or ‘success formula’ that a franchisee is able to duplicate or copy, therefore guaranteeing success. At least, that’s the principle. We all know there are many other factors which come into play in the franchised business arena such as the requirement for a degree of business acumen, financial planning, management and of course, people skills.

Network Marketing or Franchise

Network marketing or MLM is similar, in that a business model is developed, either a product or a service and a compensation plan is put together for the business owners. The chief differences between franchising and network marketing or MLM are:

  1. The network marketing business owner not only has products and services which they can promote and sell, they also have the ability to set up other network marketing business owners.

  2. Depending on the compensation plan, the business owner will also have the ability to make revenue from the efforts of his ‘sponsored’ network marketing business owners. That is, if those they sponsor go on to sponsor other business owners, the original network marketer will usually benefit.

  3. In the MLM business, start up costs are generally much, much lower. The franchise is usually a relatively expensive business to start as a franchisee, not only that, the franchisee does not have the ability to set up other franchisees.

Caveats

There are indeed a few caveats, each Network Marketing Business is different, they are governed by rules and regulations, each will have their own compensation plan. All of these factors should be considered before deciding or committing to any opportunity.

A Common Trait

There is a common trait which runs through all massively and even moderately successful Network Marketers, they have all applied this very simple principle. The principle they have applied is that of ‘duplication’. Duplication is an absolute corner stone of success in Network Marketing and MLM. I will even go so far as to say that if the network marketing business does not posses the ability to duplicate their efforts, business is doomed to failure!

Your Success Depends on This

Fortunately, duplication is one of the first principles that any successful leader in the MLM industry will teach to their organisation. After all, another key success principle in MLM is that in order to succeed, you absolutely must help others to succeed first.

A Working Example

I would like to share a working example of duplication in action. Any active network marketing business owner will be faced with this at some point in their career, so let set the scene.

The network marketer contacts one of their prospects to discuss the idea of the prospect becoming a network marketing business owner, the prospect responds with “Yes, that sounds great, but, are you making any money?”

How should the network marketer respond to this question?

You will notice that we don’t know if the network marketer in this example is incredibly successful or if they are brand new to the business. In either case, the response is critical, and in either case it should be the same. You see, we teach by doing. In MLM people will need to be able to duplicate your efforts.

So, the wrong response would be “Yes, I’m making xxx thousand a month and it’s great, you should look at it!” Why is this wrong? Quite simply, it cannot be duplicated. The new network marketer will not be able to say this to their prospects, at least not honestly.

The correct response would be “My upline team are incredibly successful, they have developed large organisations and we are working together to find more like minded people to work with” Why is this correct? Again, very simple, it can easily be duplicated! The new network marketer can use this exact same technique in their business.

This is just one working example, there are many, many situations where duplication and the ability to duplicate need to be considered. The principle of duplication must be taught very early on in the network marketing business owner’s career if they are to succeed and achieve and experience rapid growth in their organisation

In Summary

The key to success in network marketing and MLM is duplication, it is also in the ability to teach duplication. Teaching this principle early on will help your organisation grow and duplicate rapidly. Helping others to become successful in this technique is a cornerstone of building large network marketing organisations.

Why Building a Lazy Downline is Better

You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m an mlmer, network marketer or it even seems to be referred to as affiliate marketer these days too.

I’m sure you know what’s involved in mlm, it’s all about building a downline, and helping those that join you in your mlm business to become successful through assisting them with building their downlines.

Lord know’s I get an awful lot of help from my upline, chiefly Dave Butler. Dave is one of the UK’s finest network marketers having been working with mlm businesses for the last 20 years.

Dave is an absolute master of building large network marketing organisations running to many thousands of people.

So what does this have to do with building a ‘Lazy Downline’?

Dave introduced me to james Grandstaff’s system “Instant mlm squeeze pages” (there’s a link to it, which I am certain you have noticed on this page). James has been incredibly successful in building massive mlm organisations of over 14,000 people. That’s pretty amazing right?

What staggered me was that James does not use traditional network marketing techniques, on the contrary, he has developed a 3 step system which makes building downline organisations here on the net a breeze.

I read an eBook written by James entitled “How to Get Rich Building a Lazy Downline”. It was a fascinating read, James tells the tale of alcoholism, of a gentleman with an income of $13,000 a month who was scared! and talks about a method known as ‘Giving them a fish’

The book was a real eye opener, and really, it suggests that us mlmers should ‘unlearn’ all of those old downline building techniques, you know the ones, call up your friends and family, colleagues and associates etc, buying up and calling so called leads and so on, the lazy way is better, use a system which generates highly targeted prospects and which pays you in the process!

OK so the ebook is available here BUT, please bear in mind this is normally distributed via a squeeze page, so any reference to receiving the ebook via a squeeze page should be taken into account.

All the best, have a great day!

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably not a big fan of the ‘Old School’ network marketing methods. I spent a good few years using these methods, you know the ones:

1. Get a dream (that’s easy ;-) )

2. Build a list of your ‘warm’ contacts… friends, family, colleagues etc etc

3. Grab the phone and go through the script… the one that says “Hey Joe, I just took a look at a very exciting business and I think you’ll like it too…”

4. Get yourself round to Joe’s house with your professional suit on, your briefcase packed full of literature, compensation plans, follow up materials etc

5. Get back to Joe’s house a few days later to follow up

and so on… I’m sure you know the story

Is there something wrong with these methods? Well, in truth, no, there’s nothing wrong with this at all, my issue is this: it is just not easily duplicateable, it’s no secret that in order to be successful using these methods, you are going to have to talk to one heck of a lot of people to find your leaders, and in order to find them you are going to face an awful lot of rejection, disappointment and pain in general, that’s fine if you are the sort of person that can deal with this and if your dream is strong enough, and, generally you will find that there is a ’self improvement’ system which will teach and mentor you, again not a bad thing, but, is it necessary in todays new age of network marketing?

Using these ‘old school’ methods you soon find that your friends, family and other warm contacts soon run out, and you have to start looking at other ways of generating leads, again this is not necessarily easy for most people, sure, theres people out there who just seem to be magnetic, they attract people to themselves and make striking up a conversation look like a walk in the park. In my opinion though, these people are few and far between… So what’s the answer?

Today, we have the internet, we have software systems and we have ways of developing leads without ever having to lift the phone or even leave the house! Sounds a bit more like it to me, and actually, it sounds like a lot more fun!

What we have is ‘The Funded Proposal’ A system which allows you to build your network marketing business online (and making some money while you do it!)

On this page you will find a link to a brilliant eBook which was crafted by ‘The Downline Duplication Specialist’ James Grandstaff, who is a very smart software developer who’s skills include viral traffic generation. The eBook includes transcripts from both James and Daegan Smith… they call him “The King of Never Calling a Single Lead”, Daegan is the head of Internet Marketing for one of the worlds largest network marketing companies, says it all really doesn’t it!

Now if you want to grab yourself a copy of this eBook (valued at nearly $100) and gain redistribution and sales rights in the process, just pop your name and email address into the form.

You’re not going to part with any money in doing this, on the contrary, you are actually going to get yourself surprise bonus access to an extremely powerful media presentation by James Grandstaff, this on it’s own is valued at nearly $300!

Why would I be letting you get access to this for free? All I can say is, all will become very clear!!

Go ahead and pop your details into the form and discover ‘The Perfect Funded Proposal’ and blow your Network Marketing business into orbit :-)

Cheers!

Ian

Are you like me?

I became familiar with the principles of Network Marketing and MLM back in 1994.

I was introduced to a large MLM company by my friend Robin one evening around at somebody’s house.

I was blown away by the content of Robin’s presentation, the dreams he built, the network building diagram and compensation plan. I mean I was totally awe struck, I had never seen anything like this before and I really thought that was it, my ticket to freedom… all I had to do was find half a dozen buddies who saw what I saw, and that was it, I’d be made for life.

Well, if you are like me you can imagine what happens next.

My friends don’t get as excited as me, I come back to Earth with a bump and I end up wondering if there is something wrong with me or something wrong with the business I was so excited about. Fortunately, my upline, Robin, is a smart fellow, he’s got me using ‘the system’. It’s a system of books, tapes, meetings and functions. This system keeps me in the business, builds my confidence and belief and provides tools to help me build and train my downline. It empowers me to put on a suit and drive around the country late at night showing the business plan to people, looking for the one’s that see what I see.

I soon realize that this is no ‘get rich quick’ scheme and actually, there’s some hard work involved.

Five years later, I discovered the Internet, and I let my Network Marketing business go. I don’t know if it was the loss of belief in my self, the business or the system, or, if it was the constant rejection and pain I felt every time a distributer quit, but I let it go.

If you’ve been involved in ‘Old School’ MLM or Network Marketing as I’ve described above, you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say that MLM burns itself into your heart. It never leaves you, you know that it is right, wholesome, ethically and morally correct and probably one of the most powerful business models out there.

Enter the Internet. Combine the Power of the Internet, MLM companies and Downline Building Systems and you are looking at a completely different animal.

Take away the pain, the rejection, the prospecting telephone calls, the driving, the suits, in fact everything that was expensive and painful, take it all away, that’s old school!

Bring in automatic downline building systems, viral traffic systems, auto responders, social networking, interactive websites, online training and conferencing, blogging, article writing and search engine optimization and you have an extremely powerful system which attracts people to your mlm or network marketing business.

Turn the Old School on it’s head, the systems out there today bring your leads and prospects to you magnetically, people chase you and ask for the information, your business grows around the planet and those friends you thought would be so excited about that business don’t even know what you’re doing.

If you are anything like me, (if you’ve read this far you probably are!) I encourage you to check out the New Age of MLM and Network Marketing. Understand that the Internet and technology has revolutionized the MLM business model and that potentially it will change your future for the better. Put aside those old reservations and worries, they don’t exist here on the net. Embrace the terms MLM and Network Marketing, here on the turbo charged Internet those words are as acceptable as ‘A Cup of Tea’
